The scientific journal "Espaço Energia" was conceived as a communication vehicle with the aim of promoting the dissemination and sharing of knowledge in areas related to energy, bringing important benefits to society and to the human being, by means of better products, processes, services, and technology.
The key to generating these benefits is the investment in innovation resulting from endeavours driven by the power of creation. The challenge that presents itself is, therefore, to develop a culture focused on imagination, knowledge creation and its development, in an organized and systematic manner, generating innovation and promoting the evolution of society.
To achieve this goal, the integration of professionals from power utility companies, industry organizations, universities and research centres is essential. This exchange should not only provide opportunities for growth and development but also help utility companies to recover the vision that their role is also to promote, through innovation, the evolution of society.
Bearing in mind the importance of competence and maturity acquisition, an Editorial Board was conceived to reflect the seriousness and power of criticism, with the goal of enhancing the quality of published work and also of establishing a mechanism to achieve excellence in knowledge sharing and development fostering.
The International Committee of Referees consists of scientists and professionals from renowned institutions, who are known by their outstanding knowledge in the disciplines covered by the journal. Papers are submitted to a double-blind reviewing process, that is, authors and referees do not know each other´s names. This procedure aims at ensuring the quality, suitability, transparency and impartiality in the process of paper reviewing and selection.
Espaço Energia had its official launch in October 2004 and, since then, we can see the impact both in the companies related to the energy sector and in academia.
